Will Christian Couples Make Love to David & Tamela Mann’s Clean R&B Love Music?

Hello World,

I know I haven’t posted in about a week but your girl was sick with the flu. I mean I was in-the-fetal-position, hubby-had-to-spoon-feed-soup-to-me-sick, but I’m almost completely well again, praise God! And today’s post got me snorting over here and as the Word says a “joyful heart is good medicine!”

So last night I received this Christian Post article in my inbox from a Facebook friend: David and Tamela Mann Release R&B Album Offering Christian Couples Clean Music to ‘Make Love’ To by Jeannie Law.

Apparently the gospel powerhouse couple feels there is a void of clean music that Christian couples can listen to the bedroom. So in an effort to continue to commemorate their 30-year wedding anniversary (which has included release of their new memoir, Us Against the World: Our Secrets to Love, Marriage, and Family ), the couple has now released their first R&B album “Us Against the World.”

“It was different for me, it was really different, even though I was happy to think about the man that I love [while singing],” Tamela told The Christian Post. “It made me even look at him differently, and in all honesty, we tested it out and it really worked.”

“It’s making baby music,” David interjected about the album.

Produced by the couple and their son, David Mann, Jr., Tamela said her 30-year-old son pegged the album, “back in the day” music. They were so happy to be able to provide a project like this for the body of Christ.

“Even though you knew we were talking about love, it wasn’t nasty love music,” Tamela explained.

All of that sounds good, but Hello Beautiful is reporting that Black Twitter is clowning the clean love music from the Manns…Below are a few of the most hilarious comments in my opinion…

I bet you snorted out your coffee reading those comments, right? LOL

Before you judge, check out the first single “Good Love” below…

So what y’all think? I like the song and I love the Manns, but I’ma be honest, the only man I want in my bedroom is my hubby. The same people who are responsible for taking me to the King won’t help my king take me…I can’t go from hearing you sang blessings and glory and honor, they all belong to You and then you sanging I don’t see nothing wrong with a little bump and grind…

And what’s wrong with “nasty love music” anyway when it comes to what Christian marrieds are doing in the bedroom? The Word says the marriage bed is undefiled so if a Christian couple decides they enjoy “nasty love music” in bedroom, what is wrong with that? And maybe the Bible is even suggesting that Christian couples can listen to songs like Jay & Bey’s “Drunk in Love” in the bedroom?

Have y’all seen this verse?

“She is like a beautiful deer, a lovely fawn. Let her love satisfy you completely. Stay drunk on her love.” Proverbs 5:19

Do you prefer “Good Love” or “Drunk in Love?” Do you prefer clean love music or nasty love music in the bedroom? Or can you listen to Bey & Jay and David & Tamela Mann in the bedroom?

TV One Offers Original Holiday Movies ‘Merry Wishmas’ & ‘Coins For Christmas’ Starring David & Tamela Mann, Kim Fields & More…

Hello World,

TV One brings the holiday spirit with premieres of two new original movies MERRY WISHMAS, debuting Sunday, December 2 at 7 p.m. and  COINS FOR CHRISTMAS, premiering  Sunday, December 16  at  7 p.m./6C!

MERRY WISHMAS , starring  Tamela Mann (The Manns), David Mann (The Manns), Kim Fields (Living Single), Towanda Braxton (Braxton Family Values), Chrystale Wilson (The Players Club) and  Elizabeth Omilami (Madea’s Family Reunion), revolves around successful businesswoman Kenni (Tamela Mann) who hasn’t returned home to the quaint town of Columbia, South Carolina in years. She’s hoping for a peaceful visit when she finally returns home, but unresolved family issues threaten to make the Christmas holiday not so bright. She’s reacquainted with Jessie (David Mann), an old high school friend with a fledgling wellness facility – the Beverly Living Center. She’s instantly thrown into the lives of the center’s residents and meets a host of colorful characters. When Jessie is faced with losing the Beverly Living Center, Kenni steps in to try and help save it. Family conflicts and relationship woes, however, threaten Kenni’s efforts. It looks like only a miracle can save the center and mend broken relationships in time for Christmas.

MERRY WISHMAS  is directed by veteran actress Terri J. Vaughn and features a cameo appearance by rap artist  Yung Joc , best known for popular singles “It’s Goin’ Down” and “I Know You See It.”

“Having the opportunity to direct my friends David and Tamala Mann was a huge blessing. The rewarding part was their willingness to challenge themselves to go deeper and I’m excited for viewers to see them in the more dramatic moments,” said Vaughn. “The other blessing on this project was being able to direct my mentor and friend, Kim Fields. It was a very rewarding, full circle moment for us. I can’t wait for the world to see!”

Y’all, I was actually on set for one day of filming MERRY WISHMAS and was able to interview some of the members of the cast and writers behind the movie! See that post here:  David & Tamela Mann, Kim Fields, Towanda Braxton & More Star in TV One’s Christmas movie ‘Merry Wish-mas!’

COINS FOR CHRISTMAS  stars  Stephen Bishop  (Being Mary Jane) (Remember he was on one episode of OWN’s Greenleaf this season as well?),  Essence Atkins (Marlon),  TC Carson  (Living Single),  Kelly Price  (Saints and Sinners) and  Karlie Redd (Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta). The film chronicles single mom Madison (Atkins) who’s saved all year to make sure her teenage kids have the best Christmas ever. That is until she gets fired from the bookstore she manages and comes home to find that the IRS has frozen her bank account due to delinquent taxes her ex-husband failed to pay. Desperate to pay bills and buy gifts for her children, Madison jumps into the ever-popular “gig economy.” That’s when she meets and eventually gets hired by arrogant, sidelined former professional football player Alec Darby (Bishop), who is also secretly on the verge of going broke. This odd couple butts heads time and time again but can the Christmas spirit help these two get past their bickering, learn from each and ultimately forge a lasting friendship?

David & Tamela Mann Share Story of Their 30-Year Romance & Secrets to Love and Marriage in New Memoir Set to Release Nov. 13!

Hello World,

Two-time NAACP Image Award-Winning Actor and Comedian David Mann and his wife, Grammy® Award-Winning Recording Artist Tamela Mann, are celebrating their 30-year love story with the release of their new memoir, Us Against the World: Our Secrets to Love, Marriage, and Family (W Publishing/Harper Collins Christian), available November 13, 2018.

David and Tamela first met as teens when they attended an after-school chorus class. Tamela heard David and his friends Kirk Franklin and Darrell Blair (now pastor of the couple) sing; in those days, the boys were known as the “Humble Hearts.” Tamela went on to a different high school, but impressed them with her voice. She and David became best friends, then married, and eventually began singing with Franklin and the large ensemble he created, The Family.

With a relationship spanning more than 30 years, David and Tamela are just as, if not more than, happily in love as they were in the early days of life together. In their new book, Us Against the World: Our Secrets to Love, Marriage and Family, the superstar couple who has delighted and inspired audiences through music, plays, movies, and the television series’ Meet the Browns, TheManns, and Mann & Wife, candidly share a wonderfully inspiring, funny, and up-close look at their lives while offering hope and practical advice for building a strong relationship, marriage and family.

“We’ve always been transparent about our relationship and family with fans. In our first book we’ll tell our whole story and share our secrets to a successful marriage,” said David. “Our marriage is a top priority and our greatest accomplishment. We’re excited to share what we’ve learned about doing life together as a couple and how to fully love your spouse,” said Tamela.

Highlights of Us Against the World include:

  • Shares tips to help couples grow in love and commitment to each other.
  • No holds-barred honesty gives hope, no matter how difficult things may be.
  • Insight into how two successful people-built careers and a family together.
  • Lays out how to experience true unity and fulfillment in marriage.
  • Offers encouragement that though blending a family is difficult, it is definitely possible.
