‘War Room’ Actress Karen Abercrombie Stars in Pure Flix Movie ‘Heaven Sent’

Heaven Sent premieres exclusively on Pure Flix February 3rd.

Hello World,

Remember Miss Clara from “War Room?” The actress who portrayed the elderly prayer warrior Karen Abercrombie is back as she is starring in the Pure Flix movie “Heaven Sent”!

The new romantic comedy shares stories of three couples at different stages of life and is a journey through finding love, hope and joy after loss.

“The theme is love – romantic love and the love of God,” said Karen Abercrombie, who plays Elise and co-wrote the film. “It’s about trusting God’s plan and allowing Him to lead you through transitions in your life.”

Here’s the synopsis: Elise, a grandmother hurt by her past, and Patrick, a widowed pastor, have closed the door on love. But with faith and a little help from technology, will their live-streamed romance find a way?

“Entertainment is such a great way to teach the message of God’s love,” Abercrombie continued. “People turn on the television and look to be entertained and it disarms them to step into these stories. It opens a door for them to receive the message of those stories in a way they might not otherwise get.”

“Heaven Sent” is streaming now on Pure Flix, your home for faith and family-friendly movies and shows where you can confidently stream with the entire family. With new premium and exclusive original entertainment choices every week, you can strengthen your faith and family with Pure Flix – a streaming service that inspires, uplifts and entertains.

Incidentally, both Karen Abercrombie, an older mother, and I are featured on InSeasonMom.com. My journey to motherhood was posted on the blog last week. Check it out HERE!

Comedian & Radio Personality Rickey Smiley Announces the Death of His Oldest Son Brandon Smiley, However Son Was Recently Baptized…

Hello World,

On Sunday, Rickey Smiley, a popular comedian and host of The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, announced the death of his oldest son, 32-year-old Brandon Smiley, who was also a comedian. Rickey brings so much joy to so many people so it is even more heartbreaking that he and his family have to grapple with such a sad loss. At this time, Rickey has not shared how his son died, but he has shared precious memories of his son. One particularly poignant memory was his son getting baptized in November of 2022. See the video below.

Glory to God that Brandon chose the Lord before his untimely death. It is stated in the Word that those who die in the Lord will live again!!! Hallelujah!

But your dead will live, Lord;
their bodies will rise—
let those who dwell in the dust
wake up and shout for joy—
your dew is like the dew of the morning;
the earth will give birth to her dead.  Isaiah 26:19

I imagine that Rickey knows this miraculous truth and that is why he shared it with his followers. Let’s pray for Rickey Smiley and his family during this time of grief and bereavement. Rickey’s best friend  Bishop Joseph W. Walker, III, senior pastor of the historic Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Nashville, Tennessee is certainly trying to encourage him at this time…
