Will Packer & Stacii Jae Johnson Screen OWN’s ‘Put A Ring On It’ in Atlanta…(PHOTOS)

Hello World,

Atlanta’s elite, Dr. Stacii Jae and Will Packer fans gathered at Silverspot Cinema in Atlanta to celebrate the premiere of OWN’S “Put A Ring On It” on Thursday, March 16.  OWN premiered Season 4 of its successful relationship series Put A Ring On It on Friday, March 17th at 9PM EST/8PM CST, also available on the OWN app and discovery+.

About Put A Ring On It:

At the center of the emotionally-charged series are three couples embarking on the ultimate ‘do or die’ relationship test to determine whether they should ring wedding bells … or call it quits. Throughout the impassioned months-long experience, the Atlanta area couples will be guided by Relationship Coach Dr. Stacii Jae Johnson, who has been helping couples discover their truths and healthy romantic relationships for over 10 years. Each week, the couples are pushed, stretched, and tested to confront the one question they’ve been too afraid to ask: are they really ready for their ‘happily ever after?’ The couples go on a series of dates with other people to test the waters, and perhaps discover if there might be a better love connection out there that they’ve been missing all along. Their goal: to decide whether it’s time to go their separate ways, or make the big leap and ‘put a ring on it?’

DeVon Franklin Stars in ‘JESUS REVOLUTION,’ In Theaters Everywhere Feb. 24!

Special Preview Event on Feb. 22!

Hello World,

For the first time ever, producer, author and preacher DeVon Franklin is in front of the camera instead of behind it as he stars as Josiah in JESUS REVOLUTION. Josiah is a reporter with TIME Magazine. He’s been sent to report on The Jesus Movement that’s sweeping across the nation. JESUS REVOLUTION is a historical telling, bringing to life The Jesus Movement that swept the country in the late 60’s and early 70s. In the 1970s, young Greg Laurie (Joel Courtney) is searching for all the right things in all the wrong places: until he meets Lonnie Frisbee (Jonathan Roumie), a charismatic hippie-street-preacher. Together with Pastor Chuck Smith (Kelsey Grammer), they open the doors of Smith’s languishing church to an unexpected revival of radical and newfound love, leading to what TIME Magazine dubbed a JESUS REVOLUTION.

Below is a DeVon talking about his role as Josiah:

That fro is wild, right?

DeVon is preaching today and discussing the film at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas!

And below is the official trailer for the movie:

Directed by Jon Erwin and Brent McCorkle, JESUS REVOLUTION is produced by Kevin Downes, Jon and Andrew Erwin, along with Josh Walsh and Daryl Lefeve. Additionally, JESUS REVOLUTION was written by Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn. The tagline is: When you open your heart, there’s room for everyone. Below is a pic from the Los Angeles Premiere.

HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA – FEBRUARY 15: (L-R) Brent McCorkle, Joel Courtney, Anna Grace Barlow, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Jonathan Roumie, DeVon Franklin and Jon Erwin attend “Jesus Revolution” Los Angeles Premiere at TCL Chinese 6 Theatres on February 15, 2023 in Hollywood, California. Tasha Cobb Leonard’s Prayer for Beyoncé As She Goes on ‘Renaissance’ Tour Causes Controversy…

Hello World,

So in addition to folk getting up in arms about the ticket prices to Beyoncé ‘s “Renaissance World Tour,” which was announced last Wednesday, folks are also criticizing Tasha Cobbs Leonard for praying for Beyoncé. More specifically, they are criticizing her for the actual prayer that she prayed. Below is her prayer that she posted on her IG page.

I don’t necessarily see anything wrong with that prayer although it probably could have been a private prayer but in our social media-driven lifestyles, much of what we formerly kept to ourselves is now fodder for our feed…

Marcus Rogers, whom I must admit I’ve never heard of before today, but who is a minister according to his website,  did not respond to the prayer in the way that Tasha Cobbs Leonard anticipated. Below is his response:

How do I feel about his prayer? I feel he has a right to pray in the way that he wants to just as much as Tasha Cobbs Leonard has a right to  pray the way she wants to…I will let the good Lord decide which prayer He intends to answer. Or may He may answer both but it may not be in the way that either of them intended when they prayed…I will say this, after the pandemic, if your personal relationship with God doesn’t include discernment regarding spiritual matters, you should pray for discernment because otherwise you will be dumb out here…I would not go to a Beyoncé concert for spiritual direction and furthermore, she does not market herself as an artist who provides spiritual direction…I would go for entertainment purposes only as I enjoy some of her music. However, on the other hand, there are some secular artists who openly provide spiritual direction. I went to a Kem concert (Soul II Soul Tour) last night, and he had everyone stand up and give God praise for making it through the pandemic so…

Incidentally, this spring, the powerhouse women of Gospel and Christian music are coming together for a must-see worship experience. Kicking off on Tuesday, April 25 at James L. Knight Center in Miami, FL. GRAMMY-winning artists Naomi Raine and Tasha Cobbs Leonard, 9x GRAMMY-nominee Natalie Grant and globally renowned vocalist TAYA will join together for “It’s Time Tour 2023.”

“It’s Time” will visit 21 cities across the U.S. including Atlanta, New York and Houston. Fans can expect to see solo performances from each artist. The co-headliners will also share the stage for a few songs each night.
