Saturday Night Live Laughs About ‘Zoom’ Church…

Hello World,

Y’all, I’ve been doing my best to ‘have church’ at home during this COVID-19 pandemic, but the struggle is real. My church is having church via YouTube right now. I tune in, but it’s not the same. Thank goodness I have a personal relationship with Jesus because if my relationship with God was dependent on church services, I would be adrift right now.

But I’m not the only one who is having issues with church at home – whether via YouTube or other platforms. Y’all, Saturday Night Live showed how chaotic a Zoom church service can be on its recent season finale episode. As the pastor of Mount Methuselah Tower of Prayer Baptist Church, Kenan Thompson was hilarious! He attempted to lead the church’s Mother’s Day service while members didn’t mute themselves.

Children are cutting up in the background. You can hear background noise from everyone’s homes. It’s just a mess. Check it out for yourself!

The Anointed Pace Sisters Dedicate Song to Ahmaud Arbery’s Mother, Wanda Cooper Jones, Hosts Mother’s Day Tribute on Facebook Live at 3 p.m.

Hello World,

On this Mother’s Day, I am thinking of Wanda Cooper Jones as this will be her first Mother’s Day without her son Ahmaud Arbery, who was gunned down while he jogged in the middle of a Brunswick, Georgia neighborhood street in February. It must be even more painful for her to wake up today as his 26th birthday was Friday. I honestly have no words for yet another senseless assault on the seemingly tenuous humanity of a black man. If you can look at that video and see anything other than a murder in full-on daylight, I question your humanity…

And since my words are limited, I’m so glad that The Anointed Pace Sisters are able to capture in song the anguish she must feel even as the Father is adulated. They sing “In The Hands of God.”

Also, The Anointed Pace Sisters will also host a Mother’s Day Tribute TODAY on FB Live at 3 p.m.
