On this Palm Sunday, I’m pleased to share that Black Chyna is sharing about her journey with Jesus Christ which officially began on her last birthday on May 11, 2022, when she was baptized. Please see her Instagram post below…
And she is telling anybody and everybody who will listen about her encounter with the Lord and she wants to be right with him as a result! She is definitely living life after the altar call… She was even on Tamron Hall talking about it!
Now I’m not one to idolize celebrity Christians (although this blog does highlight celebrity Christians) particularly when they have recently become Christians (I feel they need lots of time to grow in their faith like anyone else), but to turn your back on your former lifestyle in such a dramatic fashion is worthy of attention. And because I’m one to track every cent of my earnings, I’m especially intrigued that she has turned her back on millions. But all money is not good money. And no amount of money is worth your soul…
Thinking about Blac Chyna aka Angela’s turnaround on this Palm Sunday reminds about what a true encounter with Jesus Christ will do and makes me recall my early days in my journey with Jesus. Let’s pray for her because the devil and his demons are not pleased when we turn on our backs on him and live for the Lord. There will be temptations to turn away from the Lord, but we can all make it through prayer, a supportive Christian community and the power of God…
I’m rooting for you Angela (her preferred name as of now)…
“He called me and said, ‘Hey, when my wife is going through it, I always know because I hear you playing in the background.’ He’s says, ‘My wife locked up one day for 11 hours and I heard nothing but Kim Burrell for 11 hours. Here’s why Iâm calling you. When she came out, she was better. She was so much better. He says, Iâm calling you because I need to have a meeting with the person that made my wife better.'”
See the full interview below. The Jay-Z portion of the interview starts at about 33 minutes…
Given that this podcast episode was released in October 2022, I’m not sure why this excerpt recently surfaced, but that’s the power of these Internet streets. Something can be dug up from a decade ago and be poppin’ again…Be careful out here…Anywho…
What do you think about Kim Burrell and this latest headlining story?
First Song From the New Album 'One Name (Jesus)' Out Now...
Hello World,
On Friday, June 2nd, five-time Grammy Award-winning artist Naomi Raine will release her stunning debut live record “Cover The Earth” (TRIBL Records), which features a series of choir-filled performances recorded live from New York City and collaborations with nine-time Grammy Award-nominee Natalie Grant, Chandler Moore (Justin Bieber, Maverick City Music), Todd Dulaney and Lizzie Morgan (Maverick City Music).
Now, however, she shares the first song from the new album, âOne Name (Jesus).” See the video of the song below:
ââOne Nameâ is about Jesus and my total reliance on him,â says Naomi. âOver the past few years, people have listened to my music, experienced my ministry, and have begun to know my voice and my name. I just wanted to release a song about The Name thatâs higher than every other name in a world where thereâs so much emphasis on the names of celebrities and brands. I want to bring a message of hope, but not hope in me or my gifts, but in the God who gives them both freely and I pray that people find hope when they listen to the song.â
More than a collection of songs, “Cover The Earth” is a full-blown worship experience full of upbeat and praise-worthy songs that blend pop, R&B and more, while delivering encouraging and uplifting messages across ten songs and four âflowâ song transitions. The album was recorded in the heart of New York City and produced by Naomi with Adale Jackson.
To date, Naomi celebrated the release of âOne Name (Jesus)â with an event in Jamaica on held March 18th. Another event will be in South Africa on April 1st with more to be announced.
On “Cover The Earth,” Naomi addresses how faith can free us from mental prisons (âPaul & Silas (At Midnight) [with Chandler Moore]”), fear (âUncovering”), greed (âCostlyâ) and more, while also revealing the character behind her source of inspiration for the music. Naomi also sings of the courage it takes to be a light in dark places on songs like âWe Agree (Flow),â in which she boldly roots herself in her faith despite modern culture, proclaiming âwe donât care what the left or the right is saying âcause we agree with Heaven.”
ââCover the Earthâ is a project about the goodness of God, his kindness and faithfulness,â adds Naomi. âIt is a call to action for those that love God to seek Him and spread the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere we go.â
Naomiâs debut live record follows her vulnerable album “Journey” and its follow up “Journey: Acoustic Sessions,” which were released in 2022.
In the past year, Naomi has performed on the BET Awards, Grammy Awards and more. The Grammy, NAACP, Stellar, BET, Billboard and Dove Award-winning artist is one of the top songwriters in the gospel genre, and starting this April, sheâll co-headlining the first-ever all-female worship tour, Itâs Time Tour, alongside Tasha Cobbs Leonard, TAYA, Natalie Grant, Tamela Mann and others.
