Hello World,
I don’t know how to feel about this, but it does seem funny…sadly…See what I’m talkin’ ’bout below…
Focus Features, Peacock, and Monkeypaw Productions announce Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul., from Daniel Kaluuya’s 59% Productions, will open in theaters and stream on Peacock on Labor Day weekend Friday, September 2nd, 2022.
ABOUT HONK FOR JESUS. SAVE YOUR SOUL.
In Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul., proud first lady of a Southern Baptist megachurch, Trinitie Childs (Regina Hall) carries immense responsibility on her shoulders. After a scandal involving her husband, Pastor Lee-Curtis Childs (Sterling K. Brown), the church is forced to close temporarily, leaving Trinitie struggling to manage the aftermath. Now Trinitie and Lee-Curtis must rebuild their congregation and reconcile their faith by all means necessary to make the biggest comeback that commodified religion has ever seen.
Hot off its exciting Sundance Film Festival premiere, filmmaking sibling duo the Ebo twins, writer-director Adamma Ebo and producer Adanne Ebo, make their feature film debut with production company Pinky Promise in this adaptation of their previous short film of the same name. See the hilarious trailer below…And is it just me, but doesn’t it seem like Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul. was filmed at the same church where OWN’s “Greenleaf” was filmed?
With twins, I don’t have time to watch everything, but I will make time for this…particularly since I’m missing “This is Us” and OWN’s “Greenleaf”…
Any thoughts?
Yes I thought the same church is being used for both Greenleaf and Honk if you love Jesus. Trying to research this and came upon your question wondering the same thing, lol
Yes! I thought the same thing about Greenleaf!
This movie is, oof! A lot. Still contending with it.
